The fish is delivered to you after dressing, which includes cutting, cleaning, washing and packing for ready use. In Bengali, this means the fish is delivered with its scales removed and already cut into pieces. The fish is also delivered without the head.

The net weight of the fish is about 40 per cent less than its gross weight. In other words, every 1 kilogram of fish you receive through us is equivalent to roughly 1500 to 1800 grams of whole fish. This weight reduction occurs due to cleaning and the removal of the head. The larger the fish, the more weight is lost during cutting. The price quoted is always for the net weight of the fish delivered to you. If you wish, you can buy the head separately.

The fish is cut into medium-sized pieces. In a 500-gram packet, you can expect around 7 to 8 pieces. The average weight of each piece is between 60 and 80 grams.
